Boost Mobile - Reprovision Phone

In an effort to lower our phone bills, we put my wife's phone on Boost Mobile back in December. One of the reasons is that is uses the Sprint network (not a positive or negative, we just know what we're getting here) and because it's a prepaid phone, it's cheaper. They also drop your bill $5 a month after every 6 consecutive on-time payments.

We bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 and got the service set up in December. We just hit the first drop in price (YAY) and she was complaining about the data network not working outside of the house. After looking at it, I tried to update the System Firmware, Profile and PRL, all three would connect to the 4G LTE network, see if there were updates, or if it could update, return the results, then the 4G would shut off.

I tried doing a low level clear cache and was preparing to wipe and reload the device when I can across this..

You can re-provision the phone with the Boost network to resolve weird data issues like this by opening up the phone dialer and entering the following characters.

##72786#

Once entered, the phone will reboot, attempt to re-register, update the profile, PRL and check for a system update.  It rebooted one more time and when it finally came back up, it was working as expected!
